Premier League Winners List

The English league is among the oldest leagues in the history of football with more than one hundred years of history.
The first English championship was played in 1888-1889 at the time it was called the Football League and the winner was Preston. This name was held for more than 93 editions until 1992, after which the teams participating in the top flight decided to independently discuss television rights and sponsorships. Thus giving life to the Premier League that we know to this day. The championship is divided into outward and return days.
In total there are more than 125 seasons that have been played. The championship has only been suspended on two occasions the first was during the First World War and the second time during the Second World War.
Interesting is the fact that no team has participated in all seasons, the team that has played more seasons in the English top flight is Everton with 121 seasons.
The most successful team is Manchester United with 20 titles followed by Liverpool with 19.
Arsenal are the only team to have won a gold trophy in the 2003-2004 season, nicknamed The Invincibles they won the title with zero defeats.
