The NBA is the biggest basketball event in the world where the greatest champions play, and high-level matches are played. In the late 40s and early 50s the first NBA basketball championships began in America.
The first championship was won by the Golden State Warriors who at the time were called the Philadelphia Warriors.
Even if racial segregation was present in the USA after the war, the NBA was among the first to make a change where it also allows the first African American players to play who have given another level to this sport year after year proving to be among the best and giving an unforgettable show. Already in the early years, in order to be able to see combative, spectacular matches and never get bored, the League introduced the 24-second rule where a team must shoot for a basket before the end of the 24 seconds. Year after year the teams participating in the NBA have increased, now there are 30 participants, where all teams play 82 games. The season begins at the end of October and concludes in May after the top 8 face off in the playoffs.
The most successful teams are the Boston Celtics and the Los Angeles Lakers with 17 titles. The players who have made history in the NBA by winning several titles and having won the MVP are Bill Russell who has won 11 titles, Larry Bird Champion with the Boston Celtics, Michael Jordan who is considered the greatest player in NBA history won 5 titles with the Chicago Bulls, Kobe Bryant and Shaquille O’Neal who gave three consecutive titles in the new millennium to the Los Angeles Lakers, LeBron James who won 4 NBA titles and was named in all four finals the MVP.
