Gervonta Davis nicknamed Tank is an American boxer who thanks to his percentage of victories by KO and his fighting style have compared them to former champions Floyd Mayweather and the beast Mike Tyson.
Already at the age of five he discovered his passion for boxing where he enrolled at the Upton Boxing Center. As an amateur he has an excellent career where he has won several titles as national champion such as the Silver Gloves for three consecutive years, two gold medals at the Junior Olympics, and boasts of an excellent performance with 221 victories and only 5 defeats .
He made his professional debut on February 22, 2013, beating Desi Williams by knockout in Washington, and from that day on he never stopped. The first title won by him is the IBF super featherweight title on January 14, 2017 against the reigning champion Jose Pedraza by knockout. On 25 December 2019 he moved to the lightweight category where in addition to beating his Cuban opponent Yuriorkis Gamboa by KO he also won the WBA lightweight title.
On 26 June 2021 he became champion in three different categories, beating compatriot Mario Barrios at State Farm Arena, Atalanta to win the WBA super lightweight title.
He is currently undefeated as a professional with 29 consecutive victories of which 27 are by knockout.
